SAAM SMIT Towage operates in over 30 ports in four main regions of the Americas:

  • Brazil, with 46 tugs operating in 14 ports along the Brazilian coast as well as dedicated services to Petrobras’ Oil Terminal in Angra dos Reis and also in Suape and its LNG Terminal in Salvador.
  • Canada, providing harbour towage and tanker escorts in seven ports (Vancouver, New Westminster, Prince Rupert, Kitimat, Stewart, Squamish and Port Mellon) with 23 tugs.
  • Mexico, operating 22 tugs from Lazaro Cardenas (Gulf of California), and Altamira, Tampico, Tuxpan, and Veracruz (Gulf of Mexico) as well as providing offshore services for Pemex, Mexico’s state-owned petroleum company.
  • Panama, with 11 tugs providing harbour towage and tanker assistance for nearly every port on both sides of the canal as well as coastal towing and assistance for ports in Chiriqui Grande, Taboguilla, and Melones.
